After spending way too much time testing plants, watching top players, and cross-referencing their data in Grow a Garden, I’ve put together the Seeds tier list I wish I’d had from the start.
This isn’t just a copy-paste from a random video. I’ve taken what the Grow a Garden community is saying, tested it in-game, and lined it up with the real numbers to see what actually pays off. The image below is the result: an updated guide to the best seeds in the game right now.
I’ll break down why each seeds landed in its spot, so you can finally understand what you should be planting in your garden.
S-Tier Seeds: The Powerhouses
These are the game-changers. If you get your hands on one of these, you’re on the fast track to getting rich.
- Bone Blossom: This is the undisputed king. As the game’s first and only ‘Transcendent’ rarity crop, it was confirmed by the developers to be the new best seed in the game, dethroning the legendary Candy Blossom. Its massive base value and exclusivity put it in a class of its own
- Burning Bud: A financial monster. With a base price of 40 million Sheckles, its only job is to make you an absurd amount of money. Any good mutation, especially Gold or Rainbow, turns this thing into a treasure chest.
- Nectar Thorn: This plant is here for one reason: the “Nectar Thorn Method.” It’s a top-tier strategy for farming money quickly, making this Seed a must-have for any serious grinder. Don’t underestimate it.
- Lilac: Just like the Nectar Thorn, the Lilac is S-Tier because of a specific, powerful money-making method associated with it. Players in the know use it to generate massive profits.
- Moon Melon: The “Moon Melon Method” is another famous strategy. It’s known for producing huge Seeds when combined with the sprinkler glitch, leading to massive payouts.
- Candy Blossom: An absolute classic. Even with new Seeds coming out, Candy Blossom remains one of the best all-rounders for high-value, reliable income when mutated correctly.
- Elephant Ears & Traveler’s Fruit: These are both top-tier event or limited Seeds. Their high base value and rarity make them excellent for players who want a unique and profitable garden.
- Fossilight: A newer addition from the Ancient Seed Pack that has proven to be a top contender. Its high value and unique look make it a prized possession.
- Watermelon, Pumpkin, Coconut, Dragon Fruit & Blueberry: I know what you’re thinking—Blueberry in S-Tier? Here’s why: these Seeds aren’t just about their own value. They are often essential ingredients for crafting event items or completing quests for the absolute best Seeds in the game (like the Bone Blossom). Having a stock of these makes you quest-ready, which is a top-tier strategy in itself.
A-Tier Seeds: Excellent Choices
These are your workhorses. They are incredibly good and will form the backbone of many powerful gardens.
- Beanstalk & Ember Lily: Both are high-value Prismatic Seeds from the main shop. They are your primary upgrade targets after you’ve climbed past the Mythical tier and serve as reliable high-income plants.
- Sugar Apple & Pitcher Plant: These are fantastic Seeds from the main shops that bridge the gap to the top tier. They have great base values and respond very well to mutations.
- Sunflower & Guanabana: The Sunflower has a huge minimum value, making it a great candidate for mutations. The Guanabana, as a prickly fruit, can be very profitable if you have pets like the Blood Hedgehog to boost its size.
- Moon Mango & Moon Blossom: Solid “Moon” themed plants. While not as meta-defining as the Moon Melon, they are still very valuable and benefit from the same events and buffs.
- Boneboo & Firefly Fern: Great additions from the Ancient Seed Pack. They are solid A-Tier choices that are both valuable and look great in a themed garden.
- Bamboo: A surprisingly strong choice for early-to-mid-game players. It grows quickly and can be a steady source of income before you can afford the god-tier plants.
B-Tier Seeds: Solid & Dependable
Good, reliable choices that will serve you well, especially in the mid-game.
- Pepper & Cacao: These two Divine-tier Seeds are your entry point into the big leagues. They are the first million-shekel plants you’ll aim for in the main shop.
- Dragon Pepper & Hive Fruit: Good, unique event Seeds that provide a solid income stream. They might not have a game-breaking method attached, but they are far from weak.
- Prickly Pear: A very solid Mythical fruit. Its value comes from being a “prickly” fruit, which means it gets special boosts from certain pets. If you have the right pets, this can perform very well.
- Firework Flower & Liberty Lily: Decent event Seeds from the 4th of July event. They aren’t top-tier for money, but are solid B-listers that were worth getting during the event.
C-Tier Seeds: Average & Situational
These are “okay.” You won’t build your endgame strategy around them, but they have their uses.
- Mushroom: A one-time harvest Seeds with a very high base value. The downside is that you have to replant it every time, making it less ideal for passive, multi-harvest setups.
- Cocovine & Suncoll: These are average event Seeds. They look cool and can make you some money, but they are quickly outclassed by the A and S-tier options.
- Paradise Petal: An okay flower from the seed packs. It’s more of a collector’s item than a serious money-maker.
D-Tier Seeds: The Underperformers
You’ll generally want to avoid focusing on these unless you need them for a specific quest or just for collection.
- Grape, Mango, Bell Pepper: These are early-to-mid-game Seeds that simply get outclassed. You plant them to climb the ladder, then you replace them.
- Honeysuckle: This plant is the perfect example of a fallen star. It used to be S-Tier because of a money-making glitch. That glitch was patched, and without it, the Honeysuckle’s base stats just aren’t good enough anymore.
- Aloe Vera, Lily of the Valley, Pink Lily, Purple Dahlia, Delphinium: These are all filler flowers or basic Seeds that don’t have a strong niche. They exist to fill out the world, but not your wallet.
- Stonebite & Bendboo: Lower-tier Seeds from the seed packs. They are mainly for players who want to complete their collection.
- Rafflesia: It’s big, it’s rare to see in the shop, and it’s just… not very good. It sits alone at the bottom as a classic example of a Seed that looks cooler than it actually is.
