Ever seen a garden with a massive Beanstalk reaching the sky or a Bone Blossom tree that dwarfs everything else and wondered how they did it? You’re in the right place. As a player who has spent countless hours on this, I’m going to show you the expert method for farming Huge Plants in Grow a Garden and debunk the biggest myths.
How to Grow Big Plants in Grow a Garden
Before we get into the strategy, you need to understand two very important things.
Itβs All About Luck
The chance of a plant growing huge is pure luck. Each type of plant has a fixed, hidden percentage chance to spawn as “Huge” every time you plant it. There is nothing you can do to increase this percentage.
Myth Busted: Sprinklers Do NOT Help!
This is the biggest mistake players make. Sprinklers increase fruit size, growth speed, and mutation chance. They have zero effect on the size of the plant or tree itself. Save your sprinklers for making valuable fruits, don’t waste them trying to get a huge plant.
The Ultimate Strategy: Maximizing Attempts with the Reclaimer
Since you can’t improve your luck, the only strategy is to give yourself as many chances as possible. The goal is to plant, grow, reclaim the seed, and replant as fast and as often as you can. This entire method revolves around efficiently using one key item: the Reclaimer.
Here is the three-phase method to optimize your Reclaimer supply.
Phase 1: Craft Reclaimers Faster with Hamsters
Reclaimers take 25 minutes to craft. To speed this up, fill your garden with Hamster pets while the crafting is in progress. Their ability boosts crafting speed, letting you produce Reclaimers much faster.
Phase 2: Duplicate Your Reclaimers with Pachycephalosaurus
When your Reclaimers are ready to be collected from the crafting station, swap out your Hamsters for your Pachycephalosaurus pets. Their ability gives you a chance to duplicate the crafted item, meaning you could get six Reclaimers instead of three from a single craft!
Phase 3: Make Reclaimers Last Longer with Squirrels
Now it’s time to use them. When you’re actively reclaiming your plants, put your Squirrel pets in the garden. Their skill gives you a small chance to not consume a use of the Reclaimer, essentially giving you free reclaims and making your supply last longer.
Putting It All Together: The Huge Plant Farming Loop
Once you have your Reclaimers, the process is simple but requires patience.
- Plant Your Seeds: Fill a dedicated area of your garden with the seeds of the plant you want to be huge.
- Wait for Full Growth: You can only use a Reclaimer on a plant that is fully grown.
- Reclaim the Seeds: With your Squirrels active, use your Reclaimers on all the fully grown plants to turn them back into seeds. Pay close attention to what you are clicking so you don’t accidentally reclaim an existing huge plant!
- Replant Immediately: Plant the seeds you just got back.
- Repeat: Continue this cycle over and over again until luck is on your side and one of your plants spawns as Huge.
Pro-Tip: Choose Your Target Wisely. Not all plants have the same huge chance. The Bone Blossom has a relatively high 2.5% chance, making it an easier target. A Burning Bud, however, has a tiny 0.2% chance, making it incredibly difficult. Start with plants that have a higher chance!
