The new Corrupt mutation is the most important resource in the latest Grow a Garden event. Farming it can be slow, so I’ve put together a guide with the absolute fastest methods to get all the Corrupt Plants you need, including a powerful ‘cheese’ strategy.
The Basic Methods (How Everyone Starts)
These are the standard, intended ways to get the new mutation.
- The Corrupted Aura Event: Every hour, the Zen event has a chance to become “Corrupted.” This is your main, free way of getting the mutation naturally on your plants.
- Shop Items: You can get a Corrupted Spray from the event shop to apply the mutation directly to one plant, or get the Corrupted Pet Shard to give the ability to one of your pets.
Using the Right Pets (The Smart Method)
Certain pets are designed to help you get this mutation much faster.
- Corrupted Kodama: This pet has a passive chance (around 4.4%) to give Zen-type fruits the Corrupt mutation every time you harvest them.
- The T-Rex (The Spreader): This is a great strategy. If you have the Corrupt mutation on just one plant, the T-Rex will eventually “eat” that mutation and spread it to about six other plants in your garden. It’s a fantastic way to multiply the mutation without using sprays.
The Unlimited Corrupt Plants “Cheese” Method (The Best Method)
This is by far the fastest way to farm Corrupt plants if you have the right pets. The goal is to get the mutation once, and then duplicate that fruit over and over.
What You’ll Need:
- A Moon-type plant (Moon Melons are perfect for this).
- A duplication pet (the Moon Cat is the best option).
- (Optional but recommended) A T-Rex pet.
The Steps:
- Get the Mutation: First, get the Corrupt mutation on at least one of your Moon Melons. You can use a spray, wait for the event, or use a T-Rex to spread it from another plant.
- Activate Your Pets: Make sure your Moon Cat is active in your garden.
- Harvest & Duplicate: Start collecting your Corrupted Moon Melons. The Moon Cat’s ability gives you a chance to get the fruit in your inventory without it disappearing from the plant. This lets you collect the same Corrupted fruit again and again, easily duplicating dozens of them from just a few initial plants.
